Asterism Track

Asterism Track is a full-stack, real-time GPS tracking and fleet telematics platform designed to give vehicle owners and logistics operators live spatial visibility, route playback, and asset management controls.

Intelliminds Technologies conceptualized and engineered the entire solution from scratch using Node.js and PostgreSQL. Built as a custom telemetry engine, the platform processes real-time device location ping data, maps active routes, and handles event streaming (e.g., geofencing alerts, speed monitoring) without relying on heavy third-party SaaS wrappers.

The Challenge

  1. High-Frequency Data Ingestion: Telematics devices send continuous location streams every few seconds. The backend needed to ingest, store, and process concurrent spatial data points reliably without causing server bottlenecks or database locks.
  2. Infrastructure & Memory Management: Running a real-time event system on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) required strict server memory optimization and lean query design to avoid high compute overhead and ballooning hosting expenses.
  3. Low-Latency UI Sync: Displaying moving vehicles on a map requires instant synchronization between incoming server events and the web dashboard without overwhelming the client application.

Our Approach & Solution

Intelliminds Technologies developed a lightweight, highly optimized backend and frontend ecosystem built for low-overhead performance:

  • Node.js Event Engine: Built a custom asynchronous event-driven backend utilizing Node.js non-blocking I/O to handle incoming TCP/UDP telemetry streams with minimal memory consumption.
  • Spatial Database Design: Structured a high-performance database schema (utilizing spatial indexing) to query historical routes and trip logs in milliseconds.
  • Resource-Efficient Architecture: Designed the platform specifically for cost-effective deployment on cloud VPS environments, optimizing process memory and caching static assets.
  • Live Fleet Dashboard: Built an intuitive, reactive mapping interface capable of rendering real-time vehicle positioning, route history playback, and geo-fence alerts.
